Adult Swim has announced on its message boards that the Blood + anime series will debut on Saturday, March 10th at 12:30 am (ET, PT).  Last November the Anime News Network discovered that the stylish horror series was going to be broadcast on the Cartoon Network, but the debut date was unknown until now (see 'Blood + Anime Series on the Cartoon Network'). 

Blood + is a sequel to the short feature film, Blood the Last Vampire, which was also produced by Production I.G. (Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex).  Blood +, however, is a 50-episdode TV series that aired on Japanese TV from October of 2005 to September of 2006.  The expansive series format allows Blood + to present a detailed narrative of the Chiropteran vampires, whose origins date back to the 19th century.
