Kotobukiya, a leading producer of cutting edge, collector-oriented figures and the only Japanese company to produce a line of yaoi figures (Togainu no Chi), has announced a new series of yaoi/BL figures based on the popular fantasy game Lamento: Beyond the Void that features neko characters (Cat Boys).  Lamento has quickly become the most popular entry in the 'Ladies' game market in Japan and each Kotobukiya Lamento figure comes with its own CD containing an original audio drama of Lamento (in Japanese).

The first two Lamento figures, Asato and Konoe, will retail in the U.S. for $29.99 and will be available in May.  Both are 7' resin statues with poseable tails.  Asato comes with a removable scarf and jacket, while Konoe, the main character in the game, comes with a base that when combined with the bases for all four figures, forms a Lamento diorama.

The third and fourth figures in the series will be available in October and will be priced at $34.99 each.  Bardo, the friendly innkeeper, is a former bounty hunter who still wears his combat suit and is sculpted in a crouching position, but still measures more than 5' tall.  Rai, the most popular character in the series, is a cool and diffident bounty hunter easily recognized by his eyepatch.  He stands over 7' tall and like all four Lamento figures, comes with his own CD.
