Doctor Who fans in the U.S. are going to have full access to the series and its spin-off this year.  BBC America announced plans to air the Doctor Who spin-off series, Torchwood, and will feature it as part of its 'Supernatural Saturday' prime-time line-up later this year.  The Sci Fi Channel confirmed it will air Doctor Who Season 3 beginning in July (see ''Doctor Who' Season 3 Going Strong').  BBC America will also be airing Doctor Who episodes.

Torchwood is described as Doctor Who for grownups and first aired in the UK in 2006.  The second season is in production and will likely air in the UK in 2008.

BBC America is available through digital cable providers nationwide and through satellite providers Direct TV and Dish Network.
