Warner Bros. Hires Writer

Warner Bros. is planning a live-action Jonny Quest feature film and has lined up co-producers Adrian Askarieh and Daniel Alter (Hitmen, Hack/Slash) and screenwriter Dan Mazeau to get started. Askerieh, a long-time Quest fan, wants to make a series of family-friendly action flicks starring Jonny Quest to fill the void after the Harry Potter films wrap up.

The popular Jonny Quest cartoon first aired on prime-time TV for one season starting in 1964 and was canceled because the Hanna-Barberra studio couldn't hold to the budget for the realistic animation series. The property was revived with new episodes in both the 1980s and 1990s.
