Three retail chains will offer exclusive versions of the Naruto the Movie:  Ninja Clash in the Land of Snow DVD, which streets next Tuesday.  Transworld stores will offer the DVD with a Naruto lunchbox (at $29.98); Borders Group stores will sell the DVD with a special lenticular cover ($24.98); and Best Buy copies will come with a mouse pad ($24.98).  Naruto the Movie DVDs sold through other channels will be in basic DVD packaging, at a $24.98 MSRP.

The September 4th date is significant not only because it's the release date for the Naruto the Movie DVD; it's also the day that the first three volumes in Viz's Naruto manga surge (see 'Naruto Manga Goes Nuclear') are officially released.  Those volumes, numbers 16, 17, and 18, are actually already on sale in stores monitored by BookScan and are selling well -- they ranked #2, #3, and #4 in the most recent weekly reporting (week ending August 26th).

The third manga volume of every month during the surge (Volumes 18, 21, 24, and 27) will include a sheet of four Naruto stickers.
