DC Dumps Hachette

Moves to Random House for Bookstores

Published: 09/05/2007 12:00am

DC Comics has ended its relationship with Hachette for bookstore graphic novel distribution, and will be moving to Random House early next year.  Hachette inherited its distribution relationship with DC as part of its acquisition of DC sister company Time Warner Book Group early last year (see 'Time Warner Book Group Sold').

Hachette is the home of Yen Press, co-run by former DC VP Book Trade Sales Rich Johnson (along with Kurt Hassler, former graphic novel buyer for the Borders Group).  Random House publishes graphic novels under a number of imprints; Del Rey Manga is the largest of those.
