Universal Pictures has confirmed that Guillermo Del Toro, the director of Hellboy II: The Golden Army, will attend the New York Comic Con along with the movie's top stars Ron Perlman (Hellboy), Selma Blair (Liz Sherman), and Doug Jones (Abe Sapien).  Del Toro, who directed the first Hellboy film as well as the Academy Award-nominated Pan's Labyrinth, is one of the most talented helmers working in genre movies (he has been named as the potential director of the Hobbit films, see "Del Toro to Direct Hobbit Films").

Universal is planning a major promotion for Hellboy II, which opens on July 11th (see "Best in Shows 2008, Part I"), at the New York Comic Con, which will be held from April 18-20 at the Jacob Javits Center in Manhattan.  Look for details on the various Hellboy II NYCC events in the weeks ahead.

Universal is also planning major NYCC promotions for Wanted, which is based on the Top Cow comic book series by Mark Millar and J.G. Jones and which will open on June 27th, and Marvel Studios' The Incredible Hulk, which Universal is distributing, and which opens on June 13th.  All three films will be featured on over 200 street banners that will be placed all around New York City.
