The first place winner in our DBZ Dollars Display Contest used multiple displays throughout the store to emphasize the breadth of merchandise available.  Wall scrolls served as large display items inside the store, accompanying posters in the windows.  The strong visual elements, the use of multiple displays, and connection to an event together made the case that Redrum should win this contest.

The Store

We are Redrum Comics in Scottsdale, Arizona.  We have been in business at our current location for a little over 3 years.  We carry a wide range of merchandise; from comics and toys, to games, shirts, sports cards, videos, etc.  One of our top selling items has always been Dragonball Z.  We are the only store in Arizona to host sanctioned Dragonball Z CCG tournaments every week!  We have had the DBZ Hummer tour visit our store TWICE!  We viewed the DBZ Dollar Display Contest as a great challenge to try and further the Dragonball Z presence in our store.

The Display
We already have posters to promote the game in our front window (3 posters there) and our back door window.  So we decided to concentrate on the interior of the store so that DBZ products can be seen everywhere!  We created a toy and T-shirt display by our front entrance.  Then we hung several DBZ scrolls over our counters and to the entrance to our video area.  In the video area we created a display with our large selection of DBZ videos and dvd's.  Lastly, we created a small T-shirt, and DBZ puzzle card display by the refrigerator in front of the counter where we sell our DBZ CCG cards.  We even had a DBZ tournament where players who wore a DBZ t-shirt that day got a DBZ CCG promo card!

The Results
The overall result from our displays has been extremely positive!  We are selling more DBZ CCG cards than ever before.  The DBZ scrolls we have are moving briskly, the toys are selling well, and we are even having people who have never heard of DBZ come into the store and ask what it is all about!  We plan to make several of the displays that we created permanent displays!!

Thanks for the contest!  It was a great way to make one of our best selling properties into one of our top selling properties!!'
