CMI Holdings subsidiary AnotherUniverse.com has achieved a level of notoriety unusual for a pop culture retailer--it now has its own 'sucks' site. Anotheruniversesucks.org was apparently established primarily as a place for disgruntled fans of My So Called Life to vent about the problems surrounding the My So Called Life DVD Collection, which at one point was to be an Another Universe exclusive but eventually ended up being sold by other retailers as well. Among the complaints about the DVD are double and triple charges on credit cards used to order, difficulty in getting refunds, unfilled orders, orders filled later than through other channels, and more. The fans are nothing if not passionate; the site is packed with content and is offering a $50 bounty to employees of CMI for dish on the company (which also owns the Comics and Comix brick and mortar chain). CMI CEO Ross Rojek comes in for especially vitriolic attacks. Rojek did not respond to a request for comment for this article.
