Tokyopop recently announced that it is releasing the first collector's set of Marmalade Boy DVDs in April of 2004.  The three-disc DVD set includes eighteen episodes packaged in a designer hard-cover case.  The DVDs contain both dubbed and subtitled versions of each episode and other 'fun' special features.  A Tokyopop spokesperson confirmed that it would be releasing the full run of 72 episodes, but no schedule has been set for the remaining releases.  The Marmalade Boy manga is also released in the U.S. by Tokyopop.

Marmalade Boy was created by one of the world's premier shojo creators, Wataru Yoshizumi.  Yoshizumi is also the creator of the popular manga titles Random Walk and Mintna Bokura, among others.  A teenage soap opera told largely from the point of view of the teenagers involved, Marmalade Boy is the twisted saga of two families who swap spouses and then decide to live together in a sort of Bob and Carol and Ted and Alice Meet the Brady Bunch scenario.  One of the teens, Miki, is sucked further into this bizarre quadrangle when she realizes that she's falling in love with her new step brother (see 'Toykopop Acquires Marmalade Boy and Brigadoon').
