On Friday, October 3rd, the International Channel began showing the first season of the classic romantic adventure/comedy Tenchi Muyo.  The series will air at 1pm (ET & PT) on Fridays with a repeat showing on Sunday nights at the same time.  Tenchi Muyo will be shown uncut, with a dubbed English soundtrack (rather than with the original Japanese soundtrack and English subtitles).

First broadcast in 1992 (in Japan), Tenchi Muyo is a prime example of the 'unwanted guest' comedy subgenre in which a teenage protagonist (typically male) is forced to live with some sort of magic or alien girl.  In Tenchi's case a bevy of alien beauties spar over the hapless teen while he helps them fight off all kinds of intergalactic menaces.  In addition to a number of Tenchi Muyo series, which are still available on video, Viz is releasing the very popular All-New Tenchi Muyo manga series.
