IDW Publishing, which is known for its miniseries, especially in the horror genre, has announced its first on-going monthly comic book title.  Steve Niles and Ben Templesmith, the team that created the hit miniseries 30 Days Of Night and Dark Days, are collaborating again on Sacred Hearts, which scribe Steve Niles characterized as 'Dark Shadows on acid.'  A horror soap opera with characters like vampires, werewolves, and devils, Sacred Hearts' central character is a priest, who has just lost his adopted parents and is told a terrible secret before they pass.  The poor padre soon learns that everything he ever thought he was has been a lie and that now he must run a gauntlet of religious zealots, Satanic cults, and creatures of the night.

Steve Niles is just about the hottest comic book writer working in the horror genre.  Several of his titles have already been optioned by Hollywood studios (see '30 Days of Night Optioned' and 'MGM Picks Up Dark Horse Comic Series'), and he has also collaborated with Todd McFarlane on a Spawn screenplay (see 'A Brand New Spawn).
