Diamond Adopts Unique Product Identifiers

At Last

After many years of switching product codes depending on the point in the product's life cycle, Diamond has abandoned its practice of assigning 'Star Codes' to products it intends to keep in stock after release; products will instead keep their originally assigned product codes 'in perpetuity.'  This ends the necessity for retailers to use multiple codes for the same products to order from Diamond.  The change took effect January 1.

In conjunction with the change, Diamond has also instituted improvements in its online ordering system, including the ability to determine a product's stock status (stocked, back-order-able, etc.) online.
