Variety reports that Quentin (Pulp Fiction, Kill Bill) Tarantino has joined the all-star assemblage put together to direct the upcoming Sin City film (see 'Robert Rodriguez to Film Sin City').

Rodriguez has already resigned from the Director's Guild so that Sin City writer Frank Miller, most famous for his work on Batman: Year One, The Dark Knight, Daredevil and creating Elektra, would get co-director status, due to the Guild's rule that there can only be one director.  'I didn't want Frank to be treated as just a writer, because he is the only one who has actually been to 'Sin City,' ' Rodriguez told Variety.  He is in good company, joining fellow non-guild members George Lucas and Tarantino.

Shooting begins Monday, March 22nd, in Austin, Texas, on the first story segment, starring Mickey Rourke.

Other actors in discussions about participating in the film, in addition to those announced yesterday (see 'Major Star Power Being Recruited for Sin City') include Johnny Depp, Steve Buscemi, Christopher Walken and Michael Douglas.
