Platinum Studios has announced that it has a deal with First Family to produce half-hour TV series and direct-to-DVD movies based on two new comic properties, which will be published by Top Cow in 2005 as part of the companies' new relationship (see 'Platinum To Develop Top Cow Characters for Film and TV').

Spaced features a teen hero whose body is inhabited by a teenage alien that gives him super powers.  The Spaced pilot will be written and directed by Adam Rifkin (Small Soldiers, Mousehunt); the comic will be written by Rob Moran.

Meet the Haunteds

Meet the Haunteds, in which a white family moves into an old mansion haunted by African-American ghosts, is being developed into a half-hour sitcom and a series of two-hour direct-to-DVD movies.  The comic will be written by Chris Wichtendahl.

First Family is headed by former Disney and UPN President Dean Valentine.
