Acting on a tip Canadian police raided the Canadian Comic Book Expo and carted away two truckloads of still-packaged replica weapons displayed by the American online company SwordStaff.com, which specializes in swords, daggers, maces and war hammers and other accoutrements of various fantasy games and movies.  The Canadian police arrested four Americans and two Canadians in conjunction with the raid and charged them with multiple counts of possessing and selling prohibited weapons, according to a CP story.

SwordStaff has exhibited at the Canadian Comic Book Expo for the past five years and the 'weapons' had all been cleared by Canadian Customs.  One of the men arrested complained, 'I never expected this...They weren't even sharp.  It was fans buying swords from their favorite movies and then someone complained.'  Canadian police maintained that the SwordStaff booth had a number of prohibited weapons for sale including throwing stars, one-handed crossbows, belt-buckle knives, push daggers and an easy-to-conceal penknife.
