Warner Bros. Home Video will release the first season of classic Adventures of Superman TV series on October 18th.  The boxed set, which has a suggested retail of $39.95, will include all 26 episodes from the first season of the series, which starred George Reeves, along with the feature length film, Superman and The Mole Men.  The first season's episodes were actually shot in 1951, but were not shown until 1952 after Kellogg's had agreed to sponsor the series.

The first two seasons of the series were shot in black-and-white, but the Adventures of Superman went to color starting in 1954, so even though the episodes were broadcast in black-and-white, fans buying Season 3 and beyond will be treated to full color episodes.  Those who buy the Season One box will get to see actress Phyllis Coates as Lois Lane.  After the first season Noel Neill, who had already played Lois Lane in the Superman and Atom Man vs. Superman serials, replaced Coates.
