WizKids is planning a massive promotion to bring new and lapsed HeroClix players to brick and mortar stores in October.  The promotion will use the 10-15,000 unique individuals worldwide that are involved in HeroClix organized play to recruit friends, using free Starter Sets and collectors edition figures as incentives.

WizKids will designate a yet-to-be determined week in October as the window during which brick and mortar WizKids Venues can hold their New Kid Nights.  Current HeroClix players will be encouraged to bring in a neophyte or lapsed player and the pair will be given one of 14,000 Marvel Universe Starter Sets that are being provided free by WizKids.  The regular player can use the Set to teach the 'new kid' how to play, and as a special premium, both will receive a free limited collectors edition figure of Spider-Woman for participating.

WizKids will promote this grass-roots event with heavy online promotion, and with a free in-store poster that will go out in September.  A second poster, going out around the same time, will promote WizKids' new ClixBrick promotion for the November Marvel HeroClix:  Armor Wars release (see 'WizKids Plans HeroClix Promotion').

The New Kid Night and ClixBrick promotions are both designed to reinforce the game store as the place to buy WizKids product, a welcome show of support for brick and mortar retailers, who are facing increased competition from online retailers on collectible game products.
