Disney Book Group is expanding its graphic novel line, adding a new junior line and a vintage collection to its W.I.T.C.H. series and its Abadazad hybrid series (see 'ICv2 News - Two 'Abadazad' Volumes Out in June').

The junior graphic novel series intends to bring in new graphic novel readers by retelling some of Disney's biggest stories in graphic form. The first two releases follow the storylines of the hit films Finding Nemo and Lilo & Stitch. The $3.99 price for either 6' x 9' book should entice new readers when Disney releases the books in September.

While covering their new properties with the junior graphics novels, Disney also will use its old properties when it reprints classic comic stories in Disney Comics: The Classics Collection.

The book reprints stories originally released in the 40s and 50s in Four Color Comics that tell the stories of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (#49, 1944), Bambi (Vol. 2, #12, 1942), Dumbo (#17, 1941), Alice in Wonderland (#331, 1951) and Peter Pan (#442, 1953).

The $49.95 collection comes in a foil-stamped matte case with acetate jacket this October.
