According to Animation Insider the Cartoon Network plans to debut the Trinity Blood anime series  on Adult Swim at midnight (ET,PT) on September 9th immediately following the debut of the Bleach anime (see 'Bleach Anime Debuts September 9th').  So the two most eagerly anticipated anime series of the year are going to debut back-to-back on what should be a night to remember for anime fans.

Trinity Blood is a gothic vampire horror series with a surprising amount of humor and an elongated character design that fits the genre and should also appeal to shojo fans (in fact Tokyopop is releasing a Trinity Blood shojo manga series starting in November).

FUNimation is releasing the first Trinity Blood DVD volume in September, and although FUNimation's early acquisition of the license cut down on the amount of fansubbing (with all its attendant buzz-creating), the Trinity Blood series was voted 'the most anticipated new anime series' in a recent AOL online poll of anime fans.  While Trinity Blood is no Naruto, the airing of the gothic vampire series on Adult Swim should help establish the property as one of the top new series of 2006.
