Ali Kokmen has been named Manga Marketing Manager for the Del Rey imprint, a new position that testifies to the growing importance of the highly successful manga line published by Del Rey under the terms of a deal struck between Del Rey's parent company Random House and the Japanese publishing giant, Kodansha.  Mr. Kokmen will report to Ballantine/Del Rey Associate Publisher and Director of Marketing Kim Hovey.  Mr. Kokmen will be responsible for the development and execution of marketing strategies, online marketing, advertising plans and promotional materials for all manga titles.

 

Mr. Kokmen has over 13 years of experience in marketing and sales.  Most recently he worked at Central Park Media Press as Director of Book Sales, where he was responsible for the sales and marketing of all CPM's manga and manhwa graphic novels.  Prior to his stint at CPM, Mr. Kokmen worked for two-and-one-half years at the Collins Design branch of HarperCollins, where he was the sales and marketing manager for a line of illustrated art, design, pop culture, comics and manga titles.
