Mayfair Games has announced the release of the Justinian and Anasazi, board games, co-produced with Phalanx Games (see 'Mayfair to Represent Phalanx'); and the Pompeii and Mega Star board games, co-produced with Amigo Speile.  All four games are scheduled for release in November.

 

Justinian: Intrigue at the Emperor's Court features the life and times of Byzantine emperor Justinian I.  Players vie to influence the emperor's advisors to promote their own interests.  The game includes one game board, one scoring and game phase card; 12 courtier character tiles; 48 character cards; four sets of 22 influence tokens; eight scoring markers; one game phase token; four player screens; and one rule booklet.  The game is for 2-4 players, ages 10 and older and retails for $45.00.

 

Anasazi: Lost Pueblos of the Ancients explores the ruins of the Anasazi pueblos of the American Southwest.   Players guide expeditions from their base camps to learn about the culture,  collect treasures and work toward each player's 'secret goal'. Anasazi includes 28 mesa tiles; one scoring tile; eight goal cards; 54 expedition markers; 48 treasures; six base camps; 28 campsites; 16 wooden towers, and one illustrated rulebook.  The game is for 2-4 players, ages 10 and older and retails for $30.00.

 

(The Downfall of) Pompeii is set in 79 A.D. at the foot of the infamous volcano.  The goal of the game is to attract friends and family to visit by drawing cards, then save as many as possible once the Vesuvius card is drawn.   Pompeii includes 140 citizen playing pieces in four colors, 61 game cards, 45 lava tiles, one volcano, one cloth bag, and one game board.  The game is for 2-4 players ages 10 and older, and retails for $45.00

 

In Mega Star: Who's at the Top?, players use the programming on their radio stations to manipulate a band's position on the charts.  Mega Star is for 3-5 players, ages 8 and older, and retails for $10.00.
