Gabriel Hagmann of DreamStrands Comics, Inc. in Seattle, Washington sent in this FCBD report:

We here at DreamStrands always make an event out of this lovely new holiday!  This year was no exception, as we handed out tons of free comics, HeroClix, movie posters and promo goodies.  However, I'd like to give a hearty shout out to Sideshow Collectibles this year!  Completely unsolicited, and completely free, the company who makes all the wonderful statues and 12' action figures for various properties, sent DreamStrands an entire mixed case of Buffy the Vampire Slayer 12' figures to do with as we see fit!  These are items that generally sell for around $40 and with the high-profile Buffy: Season 8 comic on the shelves and selling like mad, this was a great move!  Somebody in their marketing department is paying attention to what's hot and should get some serious kudos for this idea.

As a show of thanks to Sideshow and all those Buffy fans who patronize DreamStrands, we are raffling off these action figures in pairs of 2, along with the signed Jo Chen lithograph of Buffy #1 which Dark Horse made available.  The raffle began on FCBD and will continue for one week at $1/ticket with all proceeds being sent to the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund.  We've already raised $150+ with 4 days to go!

Its attention like this from Sideshow is part of what makes FCBD such a success every year, and I thank them and all the other companies who've worked to keep this little holiday going over the years.  Can't wait for next year!
