In a letter to advertisers F&W Publications has announced that it will cease publication of the trade magazine Comics & Games Retailer with the February 2008 issue.  The retailer-oriented publication will end with issue #191 (February), which will actually ship in January 2008.  For more than 15 years between cluttered covers that screamed 'trade magazine' Comics & Games Retailer covered the world of pop culture retailing with columns written by leading independent retailers and industry luminaries including Phil Boyle, Mimi Cruz, Joe Field, Chris Powell, John Kaufeld, David Millians, John Phythyon, Brian Hibbs, and Michael Stackpole.

F&W has not yet decided the fate of the Comics & Games Retailer Website.  When Comics & Games Retailer was created by Krause Publications, the Internet was still in its infancy (at least in terms of its commercial applications).  F&W Publications of Cincinnati, acquired the Iola, Wisconsin-based Krause Publications in 2002 (see 'Krause Publications Sold for $120 Million').
