June comic and graphic novel sales in the direct market were up 1% over the same month in 2009.  A 21% jump in graphic novel sales, the best year over year comparison since June of 2008, made that possible; periodical sales slipped 4% vs. the previous year period.

 

Q2 comic and graphic novel sales were down 4% vs. Q2 2009, with a 2% decline in comic sales and a 9% decline in graphic novel sales. 

 

The first half of 2010 was almost a wash over-all, with a combined 1% decline in comic and graphic novel sales vs. 2009.  Comic sales were up 1%; graphic novel sales were down 9% for the period.
