Twenty-six episodes of a new Thunderbirds Are Go! series have been ordered, according to Deadline, for broadcast on the UK’s ITV and CITV in 2015.  ITV Studios is partnering with Pukeko Pictures and effects house Weta Workshop (The Hobbit) for the production.  The new series will use a mix of CGI animation and live-action model sets.
Series creator Gerry Anderson, who passed away late last year (see "R.I.P. Gerry Anderson"), announced that he was working on a reboot in 2011 (see "'Thunderbirds' Is Go!").
The original series aired for two seasons in ITV in the 60s, and spawned a rabid fandom worldwide.
