ComicsPro News:  At the ComicsPro meeting in Atlanta IDW Publishing announced an agreement with the Cartoon Network that will allow IDW to publish new comic book series based on Cartoon Network properties as well as repackage comic book material based on Cartoon Network-owned properties that was previously published by other publishers.

A spokesperson for IDW told ICv2 that the first comic book series resulting from this agreement will be a Powerpuff Girls comic that will debut in the fall of 2013.  Created by Craig McCracken, the Powerpuff Girls cartoon debuted officially on the Cartoon Network in 1998 and ran until 2005.  The award-winning 78-episode Powerpuff Girls cartoon series has developed a cult following, which should bode well for the comic book adaptation.
