Graham King’s GK Films (The Departed) and Johnny Depp’s Infinitum Nihil have acquired the rights to Sam Sarkar’s 3-issue comic book series The Vault, which is published by Image Comics.  In addition to creating comics, Sarkar (Caliber: First Canon of Justice) is also an actor and was a co-founder of Depp’s Production Company Infinitum Nihil, which can make the acquisition of The Vault appear slightly incestuous or, from another point of view, simply demonstrate the ever increasing ties between the moviemaking and comic book publishing industries.

The Vault, which is illustrated by Garrie Gastonny and edited by Dave Elliott, is about a small team of treasure hunters, struggling to excavate a dangerous and legendary treasure pit before a massive storm hits Sable Island, the graveyard of the North Atlantic.
