Spanish miniatures company Corvus Belli has announced a 3rd Edition Rulebook for its Infinity miniatures game.

Infinity is a 28mm metal miniatures sci-fi skirmish game with a manga look.  Set 175 years in the future, humanity has expanded to the stars, but is still fighting along political and ideological lines.  There are several international federations vying for power that players can build their armies around.  The rule system is dynamic and allows both players to be active during each turn.  Corvus Belli also supports the game with an organized play system called I.T.S. (Infinity Tournament System).

At the end of April, Corvus Belli announced plans to release a third edition of the main rulebook, which was compared to a resculpting of existing miniature models--more a revision than a remake.  The rules will be updated  to eliminate gray areas and the translation will be redone (for example, troop silhouettes will be rule-based, regardless of what kind of base a miniature is mounted on).

There will be no setting change; the new translation is meant to fit the chronology of the existing Infinity faction books, to function as a replacement for the 2nd Edition Rulebook without requiring replacement of other books.  There will be new troop profiles for generic armies introduced as well.

The basic rule information update will be downloadable from the company’s website when it is complete, minus art and fluff text.  No specific release date or MSRP has been announced.
