Skybound Entertainment has announced a partnership with Darin Ross, creator of the Superfight card game, for nationwide distribution of the game.
Superfight is a card game where players select cards from their hand representing a fighter, a power, and a problem card (for example, Mr. Rogers / Made of Sand / Armed with Rotating Machine Gun Turret) to battle the other player combinations (A Senior Citizen Bowling Team / On a Jet Ski / Armed with Nunchucks). Players then argue who would win the fight. The core game consists of a 170-card deck of character cards, a 330 power/problem card deck, and instructions. Current MSRP is $25.00.
Six 100-card themed expansions can be added, including the Blue Location Expansion Deck, Green Kiddie Expansion Deck, Red Not-4-Kids Expansion Deck, Purple Scenario Expansion Deck, Orange Geeky Expansion Deck, and the Hero Machine Expansion Deck. Each expansion currently has MSRP of $10.00.
Ross initially approached Skybound about creating a licensed expansion based on The Walking Dead. After discussions with Shawn Kirkham, Skybound’s Director of Business Development, the partnership was formed.
The game, initially funded on Kickstarter in March 2013, raised $60,898 from 1,214 backers ($50.16/backer average).
