Fantasy Flight Games has announced Rebellion Day, an in-store organized play event on September 13 to introduce new players to the Star Wars: Age of Rebellion role-playing game (see "'Star Wars: Age of Rebellion Beginner Game'").
Retailers can sign up to purchase a kit which will include the special introductory 48-page Age of Rebellion adventure Rescue at Glare Peak, designed specifically for the event. The adventure is designed for 2-5 players (one of whom assumes the GM role), and comes with four different pre-generated characters, and a full set of fast-play rules. The kit will also include three sets of the four Rebel character sheets, a set of custom Star Wars RPG dice, three copies of a player handout with full-color maps, and a promotional poster. The kit costs $7.50. Stores are limited to one kit per store location, and retailers must apply online by August 6 to participate.
When asked if this specific date has any significance (such as May the 4th) in the Star Wars cannon, a Fantasy Flight representative responded that the date was chosen to capitalize on interest for the premiere of the new Star Wars Rebels animated series debuting on Disney’s XD cable channel in October (see "Full 'Star Wars Rebels' Trailer").
