Dynamite Entertainment has announced two Chaos! Comics one-shot comics for October release:  Chaos: Bad Kitty and Chaos: The Chosen, and shared some insight into future plans for the Chaos! Universe line.

Releasing October 8th, Chaos: The Chosen launches out of the events of the Chaos! six-issue limited series that united Chastity, Evil Ernie, Purgatori and other Chaos Universe characters in the face of apocalyptic events.  The Chosen are a group of monster teens who hunt other monsters, and here they team up with witch Suspira to face off against Epitaph, an evil entity attempting to return from the dead.  In a second tale, the Chosen travel to an east coast town to do battle with an ancient monster.  The 48-page book will be written by Michael Moreci (Hoax Hunters, Quarantined), with art by Ivan Rodriguez (Doktor Sleepless, The Spider) and Rod Rodolfo (Grimm).  Cover art is by Tom Raney (Mutant X).  MSRP is $7.99.

Releasing October 1st, Bad Kitty is written by JC Spence, with art and cover by Carlos Rafael (Warlord of Mars: Dejah Thoris, Queen Sonja).  The story follows Det. Katherine Bell, who as a young girl had a dangerous coping mechanism in the form of an alternate personality, "Kitty."  As an adult, Katherine has buried the alter ego, until a near-fatal attempt on her life brings Kitty back.  The 40-page book has an MSRP of $5.99.

Molly Mahan, Associate Editor at Dynamite, elaborated on how these two titles fit into the company’s plans for the line.  "Given the breadth and depth of Chaos! comics, there are far too many characters who we were unable to introduce or dig deep into with the six-issue reboot.  We decided it would be best to expand the universe through various types of titles--ongoings, minis, and one-shots--that directly fall out of the event, as well as take our time to introduce characters, such as Bad Kitty and Suspira (who will show up in The Chosen one-shot), who we didn’t have time to see in the initial launch."

"Just like our actual universe, the Chaos one will continue to expand as we have plans for more one-shots, ongoings, and miniseries ahead," Mahan said.
