Cubicle 7 will release a boxed RPG based on Joe Dever’s fantasy gamebook and RPG series Lone Wolf in 2015. The game is currently seeking funding on Kickstarter.

Dever’s series of young adult gamebooks have sold more than 11.4 million copies worldwide.  Since the series began in 1984, the fantasy world of Magnamund has expanded to include computer and console games, and a roleplaying game from Mongoose Publishing (2004-2013, see "Mongoose Brings Back 'Lone Wolf'' Series").  Cubicle 7 announced a deal last year to publish the roleplaying game (see "'Lone Wolf RPGs'”).

In the game, players take the role of Kai Lords- an order of warrior-scholar-monks who train to master super-human feats of body and mind to defend their home of Sommerlund.  The game is designed to be played out-of-the-box, and accessible to young adults new to tabletop gaming.  For those familiar with the universe, events in the game take place 50 years before the narrative in the first game book.

The Lone Wolf Adventure Game box set will include a full color Adventure Book, a Kai Training player’s book, a Kai Wisdom narrator/GM book, and handouts including a story guide, a map of Sommerlund, pre-generated character folios, blank character sheets and more.  MSRP and trade release dates have not been announced.

Cubicle 7 has detailed planned expansions for the game, including setting expansions, adventure expansions, game expansions with new characters, and additional maps.

The Kickstarter campaign has raised £26,103 (approximately $43,821.72 U.S) from 247 backers ($177.41/backer average) as of this writing.  The campaign has 36 days to go, and has already surpassed the modest £15,000 ($25,182 U.S.) funding goal.
