DC Comics has announced the November 26, 2014 debut of Gotham By Midnight, a new horror/supernatural series.  Though it takes place in Gotham, the primary protagonist of Gotham By Midnight is not Batman, it’s Jim Corrigan (the host of The Spectre), who heads the X-Files-like "Midnight Shift" at the Gotham Police Department in the new comic, which Ray Fawkes (Constantine, Batman Eternal) is writing with Ben Templesmith handling the illustration chores.

While Batman will be around, he will mainly act as support for Corrigan and his spirit hunters, who include Corrigan’s partner Detective Lisa Drake.  Fawkes told Blastr that the new series will be Gothic, melancholy, and more of a supernatural saga than a horror story, though there will be elements of both genres, as well as occasional appearances by The Spectre, if Corrigan can’t quite handle things on his own.

Gotham, the most famous "metropolis" in the DC Universe, is about to get a lot more mainstream notoriety when the new Gotham TV series debuts on September 22nd on the Fox network (see "Fox's Gotham 'Movie' Trailer").
