With the board game market in the U.S. continuing to grow, Czech Games Editions (CGE) has announced that the company will now be "handling our own distribution for most English-language editions of our board games.  Titles that were distributed through Rio Grande Games and Z-Man Games will now be distributed under the CGE logo."  CGE promises that "gamers on both sides of the Atlantic should be able to find our games at the same retailers as before," and that "English-language editions of CGE games will now have prices similar to editions in other languages."

After thanking Rio Grande and Z-Man for helping their company grow, CGE noted that the move to handle their own distribution "will enable us to become more responsive to English-speaking gamers," before announcing a new edition of Vlaada Chvatil’s Tash Kalar (see "'Tash-Kalar: Arena of Legends'") that will have "higher-quality cardboard, new graphic design, and a lower price."  CGE is planning to produce an "upgrade" pack for those who already bought the Z-Man edition of Tash-Kalar as well as new expansion deck Everfrost (see below).

In the announcement of the change of distribution, CGE noted that the first shipment of games under the sole CGE logo will include Vlaada Chvatil’s party game Bunny Bunny Moose Moose, Shipyard, Last Will, Dungeon Lords, Dungeon Petz, and expansions.  By the end of 2014 CGE promises to introduce its newest game Alchemists as well as the anniversary edition of Dungeon Lords.

Glacier Giant from Everfrost Expansion
On its website CGE also touted the release of a new Tash-Kalar expansion deck, called Everfrost, at Essen 2014.  The new deck, which features art by David Cochard, contains new powerful beings that live in the frozen lands of never-ending winter.  The new deck introduces a new mechanic, "frozen effects."  Frozen effects do not have to be performed immediately when the being is summoned, a player may store them for future use, and pull them out at the right moment for maximum effect.
