New York Comic Con News: At the New York Comic Con Marvel Comics revealed a partnership with KIDdesigns to produce a Dancing Baby Groot toy, which will recap one of the most magical moments of James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy in which the infant Baby Groot shimmies to the sounds of the Jackson 5’s "I Want You Back." Unfortunately, licensing costs being what they are, the toy Dancing Baby Groot grooves to what sounds like a pretty lame instrumental version of the classic Jackson 5 original. Check out the original clip to see the difference (see "Dancing Baby Groot Clip").
Still the new Dancing Baby Groot, which was revealed on Mashable, looks and functions more like the rhythmic twig in the movie than Funko’s adorable-in-its-own-way Dancing Baby Groot Bobblehead (see "First Look at Funko’s Dancing Baby Groot"). The KIDdesigns Dancing Baby Groot should be in store shelves in December, and will cost about $14.99 at retail.
