The labor audit that GAMA revealed in September (see "GAMA Reveals Labor Audit") has been completed, and as a result GAMA is liable for $10,000 in back pay to its employees and no penalties were assessed, the organization told sponsors last week.

The audit found four areas that required correction:
  • GAMA was awarding comp time for overtime hours instead of paying overtime pay.
  • Some employees were mis-classified as salaried who should have been hourly.
  • GAMA was allowing employees to flex time within a two week pay period; the practice is only permitted within the same week.
  • Time sheets were being kept for six months but should have been retained for two years.
GAMA will be conducting a "Lessons Learned" seminar at GAMA Trade Show 2015 (see "2015 GAMA Trade Show").
