Z-Man Games has announced Pandemic: State of Emergency and a new edition of Saint-Petersburg for 2015 release.

Pandemic: State of Emergency is an expansion for the popular disease fighting game which includes three new challenges.  The Hinterlands Challenge sees the disease vector change with diseases jumping the species barrier from animal to humans.  The Emergency Events Challenge introduces unpredictable events to the game, players will have to use quarantines to stop the spread of sickness unchecked.  The Superbug Challenge introduces a fifth disease that is immune to existing treatment.   Players must find a cure and produce vaccine doses to fight the new threat, and the superbug must be eradicated for the game to be won.  Specific release date and MSRP were not announced.

Pandemic currently ranks at #4 on the Summer Top 10 Board Game chart (see "Top 10 Board Games--Summer 2014"), and Z-Man announced a World Championship competition at Gen Con this summer (see "'Pandemic Survival'").

A new edition of Bernd Brunnhofer’s award-winning Saint Petersburg is planned for release in early 2015.  (In Rio Grande Games’ now out-of-print U.S. release, the designer was listed as Michael Tummelhofer, Brunnhofer’s pen name.)  The drafting and set collection game has players attempting to help build the Russian capital of Saint Petersburg in 1703.  Players collect workers, who bring in money, used to construct buildings.  The goal is to get nobles to move in, to help manage and operate the government (bringing the player victory points).  The new edition will also include a new expansion.  Specific release date and MSRP were not announced.
