Although his appointment has not yet been announced, it appears that Michael Shelling has been named the Director of Publicity (Publishing) for DC Entertainment. Shelling’s appointment fills a void created when Alex Segura returned to Archie earlier this year (see "Alex Segura Returns to Archie").
Newsarama broke the story of Shelling’s appointment, noting that he was already operating out of DC’s Burbank offices where the rest of DC’s editorial staff is heading next spring in a move that will be "covered" by DC’s Convergence event (see "'Convergence'").
Shelling’s resume includes a recent stint as public relations manager at Carbine Studios as well as time with Sony Online Entertainment, which developed the DC Universe online game.
