Chris Pratt, who effortlessly jumped from a character role in the TV series Parks and Recreation to major stardom on the big screen in Guardians of the Galaxy, is now attached to star in an adaptation of the Image Comics graphic novel, Cowboy Ninja Viking written by A.J. Lieberman and drawn by Riley Rossmo. Pratt will take the juicy role Duncan, a multiple personality disorder patient who has been transformed by a counterintelligence agency into a “triplet,” who can physically manifest as his different personalities (the "cowboy," "ninja," and "viking" of the title).
This property was originally acquired in 2010 by Disney, who commissioned a script by Zombieland writers Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese (see "'Cowboy Ninja Viking' at Disney"), but the Mouse House found the script too edgy and the project went into turnaround until Universal took it over.
According to Collider, there is no director attached to the project yet, but with Pratt now involved the film has a much better chance of getting made. Collider also reports that there is no word yet on whether Duncan’s three distinct physical personalities would be played by separate actors or by Pratt himself in what would surely have to be a tour de force performance.
