Warner Bros. and Village Roadshow announced that Emile Hirsch will star in the upcoming Speed Racer feature film scheduled for release May 9, 2008 (see 'Date Set for 'Speed Racer' Feature'). 

Hirsch recently appeared in Alpha Dog, Lords of Dogtown, and will star as Christopher McCandless in Sean Penn's feature film adaptation of Into the Wild, opening in September.
