Wizards of the Coast has announced a wide range of Dungeons & Dragons releases for the second half of 2007 including the hardcover Expedition to the Ruins of Greyhawk, two D&D CMG releases (Legend of Drizzt Scenario Pack, Desert of Desolation), a D&D Dice Game and Shelley Mazzaonble's Confessions of a Part-Time Sorceress, a humorous examination of D&D from the female gamer's point of view.

Due out in August, Expedition to the Ruins of Greyhawk ($34.95), updates a classic 2nd Edition campaign setting to version 3.5 in a deluxe hardcover 224-page D&D super adventure that revisits Castle Greyhawk and the dungeon beneath.  The scenarios in this volume can be used as a mini-campaign on its own or as part of a story arc in a Dungeon Master's normal campaign.

The first of two fall D&D CMG releases is the Legend of Drizzt Scenario Pack ($49.99), which is due out in August and which allows gamers to recreate the battle between Drizzt (aided by his friend Wulfgar) and the white dragon Icingdeath that was the centerpiece of R.A. Salvatore's novel, The Crystal Shard.  The Scenario Pack includes a Gargantuan White Dragon figure (to scale) as well as exclusive Drizzt and Wulfgar figures, stat cards, a full color battle map, and an excerpt from Salvatore's latest Drizzt novel., The Orc King.

The second D&D CMG release, Desert of Desolation, a 60-figure expansion based on the classic 2nd Edition AD&D module, is due out in November.  Each Desert of Desolation Booster ($14.99) includes eight randomized miniature figures.

One of the most intriguing D&D releases of the fall is Inn Fighting: The D&D Dice Game, which is due out in October.  Designed by Rob Heinsoo, creator of the card-based Three Dragon Ante, Inn Fighting is an attempt to do with dice what he managed to do with cards in Three Dragon Ante.  Inn Fighting is all about tavern brawling and it can be played in world as part of an ordinary D&D adventure or out of world as a stand alone game.

Shelley Mazzaonble's Confessions of a Part-Time Sorceress ($14.95), which is slated for a September release, should help WotC expand the demographic for D&D.  Mazzaonble explains the basics of the game focusing on how to build a character, but she also gives important tips on finding the right group to play with, and most importantly how to make the D&D game a rewarding social experience for players of both genders.
