When we last looked in on Perplex City (last spring, see 'Final Wave of Perplex City in June'), the final card packs in Season 1 were about to ship, and the players of the ARG (see 'Perplex City -- An Alternate Reality CCG') were searching for the cube at the center of the game that entitled the finder to a $200,000 prize.  Much has changed.

The Receda Cube was found buried in Wakerly Great Wood, near Stamford, Northamptonshire, in England, on February 4th, taking the big prize in the ARG (100,000 pounds sterling) off the table.  A new PerplexCity Website launched shortly thereafter, and Season 2 cards shipped last month.  Solving puzzles on the Season 2 cards, Season 1 cards, and puzzles on the Website all earn points that can be tracked on the site's 'Leaderboards.'

Not only has the Perplex City brand been broadened to include the puzzle games and 'puzzle portal' Website, it has also been licensed to a board game from University Games.  PerplexCity:  The Board Game shipped last October at a $29.99 MSRP.  It includes a wide array of logic puzzles including wordplay, mazes, pathfinders, anagrams, sequences, and more.

The new Alternate Reality Game from Mind Candy, Perplex City Stories, will launch in June, and will incorporate the Season 2 cards.  The Season 2 card packs have a lower MSRP than Season 1.
