Fans of the canceled series Jericho have forced the network to change course and authorize seven additional episodes of the serial drama as a mid-season replacement.  Partisans of the canceled series had expressed their displeasure with the network by inundating its New York offices with over 40,000 pounds of nuts, a reference to a line from the final episode of the canceled series (which itself echoed a famous remark made by an American General Anthony McAuliffe during the Battle of Bastogne in World War II).

Jericho has developed a solid fan base, but CBS executives indicated that it will have to attract more viewers during its mid-season run in order to  get the network to order additional episodes beyond the seven ordered for the 2007-2008 season.  Inkworks plans to release Jericho Season 1 Trading Cards on August 15th (see 'Inkworks' Slate Mixes TV & Fantasy').

Now fans just have to get the CW to renew Veronica Mars.
