The Cartoon Network has announced that it will be airing an animated special, The Eltingville Club, on March 3 in its Adult Swim block.  The special is based on Evan Dorkin's 'Eltingville' stories, featuring socially inept, pop culture-obsessed teenagers,  which debuted in the anthology Instant Piano and were collected in Dork #6.  The Eisner-winning 'Bring Me the Head of Boba Fett' is included among these stories.

Dorkin is the show's creator, writer, designer, and producer, and Sarah Dyer (with whom Dorkin has worked on Space Ghost:  Coast to Coast, Batman Beyond, and Superman Adventures) is the story editor, color designer, and producer.  Other notables associated with the show include director Chuck Sheetz (Simpsons, King of the Hill), Stephen DeStefano (Ren and Stimpy, Superman Adventures) who did storyboards and California band The Aquabats, who wrote and performed the show's songs.  The March 3 airing will be only the show's first; it will be re-aired at future times to be determined.

The multiple showings of this special are the first marketing opportunity; Dorkin publisher Slave Labor Graphics says that all issues of Dork and Who's Laughing Now (the Dork TPB) are available.  The second will come when Dorkin completes the Eltingville Club one-shot comic he's working on.  And the third will come if this pilot is picked up as a series.
