Anime Expo Breaks Last Year's Record

Tops 44K

Anime Expo announced that attendance for its 2007 show topped 44,000 unique attendees, breaking last year's CLAMP-fueled 41,000 record (see 'AX Finishes Up at 41K').  The show was challenged by a forced move to the Long Beach Convention Center, a much smaller facility than Anaheim's where the show was held last year.  But with more performances by music groups and other events that drew attendees out of the convention center, the show was able to overcome that obstacle and continue its longstanding growth pattern.

Next year's show will be held in downtown Los Angeles, at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
