At San Diego Comic-Con ADV announced its Amusement Park Media subsidiary has completed the English language production of Appleseed Ex Machina, which is sure to be one of the major anime releases of 2008. At its panal on Saturday, ADV hosted Axis Entertainment's Joseph Chou, Apple Seed Ex Machina producer. In addition to the announcement, Chou played a video message from executive producer John Woo (who also had input on the story and action) and the panel audience got to see some clips.

ADV also announced it is setting up nation-wide screenings of the new Appleseed feature and 5 Centimeters Per Second in more than 250 theaters and 75 cities on two consecutive weeknights in mid-November.

ADV's Chris Oarr told ICv2, 'As a special treat, we will be previewing Devil May Cry episode 1, the biggest anime series of 2008...as well as episode 1 of Tokyo Majin, which is the best series which nobody's heard of yet. They're starting to hear about it now,' Oarr said of the 26-episode series (see 'ADV Snags 'Tokyo Majin''), 'because we've been playing it as anime cons throughout the summer with an English dub and people love it.  These previews will precede the movies and be part of what makes a really special event.'

Oarr also said that ADV will be working closely with IGN.com to produce the promotional spots and other promtional support for the theatrical event.
