Mattel Inc., the nation's largest toymaker, has acquired the rights to manufacture, distribute, and market three games from Out of the Box Publishing.  The three Out of the Box properties going to Mattel include Apples to Apples, Snorta and Blink, all of which are family games.  Blink is recommended for kids 7 and up, while Snorta is rated 8 and up, and Apples to Apples is designed for 12 and up.

Apples to Apples has won 15 major awards including 'Party Game of the Year' from Games Magazine in 2001 and a 'Mensa Select' award.  Apples to Apples has been Richland Center, Wisconsin-based Out of the Box Publishing's most popular game ever with over 3 million units sold (see 'Apples to Apples Hits 3 Million'), and it should be a potent addition to Mattel's lineup of youth-oriented games like UNO.

Snorta, which also won Games Magazine's 'Party Game of the Year' award for 2006, is a clever family game with hilarious barnyard sounds that puts a premium on a player's memory and speed of recall (see 'Party Game of the Year').
