Warner Bros. has acquired the rights to produce a live action Robotech film from rights holder Harmony Gold, according to the Hollywood Reporter.  Spider-Man star Tobey Maguire will produce through Maguire Entertainment and may take the top role.  A script has been ordered from Craig Zahler, who has no produced scripts to his credit. 

This is the second live action giant robot film announced since Transformers' debut last summer.  A Voltron film is also in pre-production (see 'Voltron Movie Close').
