The 'season premiere' of Battlestar Galactica's final season (see 'Battlestar Galactica Ending') is getting a theatrical showing, network premiere, and DVD release, all months before the rest of the final season airs. The two-hour episode, titled Razor, will be screened free in movie theaters in eight major markets on November 12th, roughly two weeks before its network premiere. Each theater (and some cities have more than one theater) will screen the episode twice. Sponsors of the showings include XBox 360, Zune, and Mass Effect.
The Sci Fi Network premiere of the episode is set for November 24th. The rest of the final season will kick off in April 2008.
Ten days after the network premiere, Razor will be released on DVD in unrated form, according to Variety.
